So, was able to get out and go to the library AND the bookstore today, that was awesome like always! But it was coming home that held the most excitement. We turned the corner to pull into our street and BAM we were met with 20 cop cars and a police officer waving us to the side of the road, when we asked what was going on he said he couldn’t say so we asked if it was alright to at least get in to our house an he said it wasn’t a possibility.
We were then ushered down the road where we sat for an hour watching the cops, then it occurred to us that we all had to go to the friggin bathroom so we drove to the gas station, milled around for a bit, got some munchies for the kids and then hopped back in to the car. We drove back to our spot at the end of the road and noticed that cars were being let through on to our street so we drove down there, turned the corner and again BAM, this time we were met with a 25 SWAT guys and a SWAT mobile, all on our tiny lil street right out in front of our house.
Whatever they had been doing they had finished so we finally went in to the house but my mom stayed outside chatting up one of the SWAT guys, trying to get a grip on what had happened. As far as he could tell her there was someone at the end of the culdesac in one of the houses that was visiting some friends and after a bit “he would not leave so we were asked to remove him.” Also, apparently he had a few federal warrants out or something. *shrug*
No one was hurt at all but it freaked the hell out of my eldest nephew, youngest nephew was spared a freakout because he had fallen asleep before we got home the first time XD
It’ll be interesting to see what the news has to say about it tomorrow.
In other news, I have a cat on my neck flexin his claws >_<

Hmmmm. I dunno about best, but my favorite I’ve done recently was a hunger Games inspired one. Did last year:

15. Do You Believe In Ghosts/Spirits?
Sure, why not? I’ve had some strange and unexplainable things happen to me as has my mom and my sister, actually most of the women from my moms side are pretty haunted. Lol… Seriously o.O
16. Your Favorite Zombie Movie or Television Show
I’m answering both! Hahah.
Movie wise I’d go with Return of the Living Dead. It’s pretty damn hilarious, I like that it references Night of the Living Dead as a “true story” and it’s a movie my sister and I heavily quote. Usually “Burt, they’re on their way” “This is a way of life” and “BRAINS Brains brains brains!”
TV show, it’s gotta be The Walking Dead. It’s fantastic. I love that it focuses more on the human aspect rather than just mowing down undead in a gore fest, kill of the week type of thing.
You knew you were in for a great show when at the end of the first episode Rick bends down to the torso zombie woman and has that moment of pity, “I‘m sorry this happened to you.”. It brings you out of the usual comfort zone of your thirst for zombie bloodshed and reminds you that these also once were people. It is not cool what is happening, it is sad. I think that is something that’s been lost in the Z-movies over the years. Like in the Dawn of the Dead when they are taking shots at the zombies and making a game out of it. We grew comfortable in laughing at the act of killing these once human-beings, Walking Dead kind of brought it back home that a Z-Day would not be fun. It would be hard, emotionally and otherwise. I just love that. AND IT’S BACK ON TOMORROW! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!
Hmm... I think I'd have to go with The Lost Boys!
It was my first vampire movie, I think I was 6 or 7 when I watched it, and I just thought it was awesome. I wanted to be a Frog Brother! Plus my mom had such a crush on Keifer so, we watched it a few times, lol. It's just one of the better vampire films out there imo. The sequels suck absolutely (at least the second one is hilariously bad, the third is just an abomination) but you can never go wrong with numbah 1!
09. Your Least Favorite Halloween Candy
Without a doubt, tootsie rolls. They are the nastiest things ever and so tiny I feel cheated -_-
10. Are You Going Trick-or-Treating This Year?
This will be the first year out of my long 26 years of living that I will not be going trick-or-treating. I'm staying home, passing out the candies and doing some baking/horror movie marathoning. No, I don't feel that I'm "too old", I just can't walk around in the freezing dark like I used to without it having consequences.. sadly.
When I was younger we used to just haul around pillow cases because we couldn't find bags big enough to hold all our stash (we would drive around town hitting up houses, not just neighboring it up), in recent years I acquired a good size bucket in the shape of Batman's head that I used. I'm passing it down to the youngest nephew this year 'cause he's going as Batman... or Master Chief (he can't decide just yet)
12. A Picture Of Your Halloween Costume From Last Year
I had two costumes. One was for handing out candy and I dressed as an "Extra in a Black and White Movie"

And the other I wore out to go Trick-or-treating, it's kind of an ongoing joke between my sister and me. Every year for the past 4 years I've dressed up as "Jason Goes Trick-Or-Treating" translating to Jason from Friday the 13th in a strange/odd hat. It started as a "Quick lets get dressed up and go haul in some candy, theres still time. I don't care just throw whatever the hell you have, on!"
One year I had it paired up with raver glasses, another year it was paired up with a monster cap, last year It happened to be a Prinny (penguin) cap!

My batman bucket head! And Stuckie, she went as a quick fix Invisible Man ^_^
Ooooh, I love candy that has more than one piece in it, like mini kit-kats or the lil things of whoppers. Even tho it isn't true, it always makes me feel like I'm getting more than I would if It was just a standard mini chocolate bar or something. My brain is weird like that XD
Oh cheeze, really you're gonna make me choose? ...
Hmm. I suppose if it really came down to it I'd have to go with Zombies, only because they seem to be evolving a littler more awesome than the other choices.
Vampires went from startling grotesque creatures to monsters of romance and sparklies. Witches are cool and all but the magic aspect wears itself out for me and Werewolves, you've got two choices, either actual wolves or weird strange animal/human hybrid ickies. Either one feels like it's been beat into the ground.
Now, Zombies you actually have a lot to work with. You've got your slow-mos from old school Romero, your sympathetic take from The Walking Dead, your quickies from new Dawn of the dead (and arguably 28 days later), you've got hilarious ones ala The Mad, Return of the Living Dead and poultrygeist. Plus if it's a zombie movie you know you're going to see awesome and creatives deaths, whether it be death of a human or a zombie. The possibilities seem more endless when its zombies.
Well it depends really, mostly I've become kind of desensitized to horror but I still get pretty in to the movies so usually it's like this:
But occasionally a really good one comes along that just gives me the heebies and I be like THIS:
